Requirements for lubricating grease in bearings

1. Penetration is mainly determined by the method of greasing to determine the size of the penetration, in order to add bearings and form a lubricating film without causing any loss to the outside. For oil centralized lubrication systems, to ensure the pumping performance of the system, the lubricating grease should be moderately soft, that is, with a higher penetration rate, generally above 270. The penetration of grease for manual oil guns and grease cups is 240-260.
When the load of dry lubricant on the shaft is high and the speed is low, lubricating grease with low needle penetration should be selected, and conversely, grease with high needle penetration should be selected. Choose lubricating grease with low needle penetration and good mechanical stability for high-speed bearings.
2. The dripping point should generally be 20-30 ℃ higher than the working temperature to avoid excessive loss and waste of lubricating grease due to temperature effects during operation. Simultaneously causing premature wear of bearings due to lack of grease. Under high temperature continuous operation, do not exceed the allowable temperature range of the lubricating grease.
3. If the working environment of bearings is exposed to water and damp places, water resistant calcium based grease, calcium sodium based grease, or high-temperature synthetic grease should be selected.
If working in an environment with high temperature and steam, composite lithium (bearing grease or aluminum) based grease should be selected; When there are significant changes in the environment or temperature difference range for high-temperature and high-speed bearing grease, silicate grease with a wider temperature range should be used. 4. Bearings that bear extremely large loads should use lubricating grease with extreme pressure additives. If a longer service life is required, use lubricating grease with antioxidant additives.
If strict control is required for the ambient atmosphere around the bearing, less volatile lubricating grease can be used.
